Context

I designed an intuitive, reliable news microsite, a sister platform to FlashPoint, focused on delivering daily updates rooted in faith, facts, and freedom.

I designed an intuitive, reliable news microsite, a sister platform to FlashPoint, focused on delivering daily updates rooted in faith, facts, and freedom.

The Challenge

There was a clear need for a trustworthy, focused platform that delivers daily updates grounded in faith, facts, and freedom. Many users felt overwhelmed by the noise, frustrated by unreliable sources, and underserved by existing platforms, especially when it came to video content.

Key Focus Areas

Information Overload & Mistrust: Too much content, not enough credibility

Lack of Curated Coverage: Few options for faith news

Poor Video Experience: Clunky players and disorganized content made it hard to follow updates

Scattered User Experience: No centralized hub offering live streams, daily updates, and timely alerts in one place

My Approach

The wireframes focused on clearly defined zones for Top Stories, Stream Live, and Categorized News, making it easy for users to navigate and engage with content. Focus was placed on the video modal interaction, ensuring viewers stayed immersed without losing their place on the page. The “Be the first to know!” SMS alert sign-up was also given visual priority to encourage quick sign-ups.

Color Scheme

The color scheme supports the microsite’s goal of providing trustworthy, reliable news in a clear and accessible way. The cool tones pull in the brand's identity colors and establish a calm environment, while white creates contrast and a touch of modernism.
